Our college counseling program reflects our belief that the journey to college should be intentional, supportive, and deeply personal. Through Key Point Academy's partnership with Misstudy, our official counselor, Yasiara, guides students and families along a clear, step by step pathway from first conversation to final decision. She gets to know each learner and shapes lists, timelines, and goals that align with individual strengths and aspirations.
Yasiara brings focused expertise in college selection, applications, testing, and tutoring. Students refine their stories through essays and interviews, complete every requirement with care, and prepare for the SAT, ACT, and English proficiency exams as needed. Families receive straightforward guidance and steady encouragement so each step feels manageable and meaningful.
This approach ensures our students are grounded in a solid plan and equipped for a rapidly changing admissions landscape. It emphasizes informed choices, organized process, and confident communication, helping every student move forward with clarity and purpose.

About Misstudy
Yasiara Ortiz leads Misstudy and serves as our official college counselor. She understands the questions students carry, because she once had them herself, and she brings that empathy to every conversation. As Misstudy’s founder and CEO, she partners with our school to guide each student with clarity, structure, and encouragement.
Yasiara’s own path began with acceptances from several highly selective universities, including the London School of Economics, King’s College, McGill University, Georgetown, and Columbia. She chose New York for the opportunities it offered and went on to complete a double major in Economics and a Master’s in International Relations at Columbia University.
Since then, Yasiara has worked with universities and colleges around the world and has been featured on television, radio, and in the press. She is a TED Talk speaker, has been nominated for several awards, and participates in graduate programs at Columbia University and Babson College.
She founded Misstudy to provide the kind of clear, compassionate guidance she once needed, and she continues that mission with our students. With Yasiara, families receive practical steps, steady encouragement, and a process that turns aspirations into achievements.
